Piano Recital

Our wonderfully talented, classically trained piano teacher, Mrs. Berlen hosts a Spring and a Christmas recital each year. Usually the spring recital is held at her home but the weather did not cooperate.

Pamplin Park - Petersburg, Virginia

On the way home from North Carolina, we had a long leg stretch at "The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier". Upon entering the museum you choose a soldier whose story you want to follow. You are then given a headphone which will trigger information about your particular soldier as you walk from room to room. You can also plug in the number of an exhibit if you have the time and the interest to learn more. The multi-sensory battlefield simulation, “Trial By Fire" was walked through more than once by our adventurous boys. We do not have any pictures to show in the museum as cameras are banned there.

Inside one of the reconstructed out buildings is a confederate flag carved into a piece of wood along side a Bible

Raft Race

This year's raft race we did in honor of our great-grandfather who we miss so much. Uncle Chris and Uncle Steve mostly worked on the raft and we helped grandma with the 40 plus shirts all with a cowboy theme. Poppy was a great fan of John Wayne and anything cowboy.
