Wedding Bells

Thursday we had the privilege of attending the wedding of our neighbors. The weather was beautiful making it even more special. They will be making their home in Brazil where they grew up.

On Christmas Night

On Christmas night all Christians sing, To hear the news the angels bring;
On Christmas night all Christians sing, To hear the news the angels bring:
News of great joy, news of great mirth, News of our merciful King's birth.

Then why should men on earth be sad, Since our Redeemer made us glad:
Then why should we on earth be sad, Since our Redeemer made us glad:
When from our sin He set us free, All for to gain our liberty.

When sin departs before Your grace,Then life and health come in its place;
When sin departs before Your grace,Then life and health come in its place;
Angels and men with joy may sing, All for to see the newborn King.

All out of darkness we have light Which made the angels sing this night;
All out of darkness we have light Which made the angels sing this night:
"Glory to God and peace to men, Now and forevermore. Amen."

~This is one of my favorite traditional English carols ("The Sussex Carol"). My other favorite is the more modern "Mary Did You Know?" While hearing Melanie von Trapp sing it in concert last Christmas in Pennsylvania, I could just imagine what it would have been like to hold the Son of God as her own son. ~ Susan

Mary did you know that your baby boy would some day walk on water?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered, will soon deliver you.
Mary did you know that your baby boy would give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God.
Oh Mary did you know-

The blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dead will live again.
The lame will leap, the dumb will speak, the praises of the lamb.
Mary did you know that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know that your baby boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know that your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding is the great I AM.

Merry Christmas!

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Happy Birthday Uncle James!

Today was the day we all been waiting for-Uncle James's 40th birthday!! Everyone enjoyed making a big deal out of it. He is the family joker, and the youngest of Mom's siblings- a fact he regularly reminds them of.
We surprised him with a large Happy Birthday banner along his fence facing the main road, and one hanging from the front of his house! :}

Uncle James's children getting in the act!

Everyone enjoyed working in the unseasonably warm weather-sunny and in the 60's

After decorating his house we all continued the celebration on his lunch hour at work

We managed to surprise him! :}

A Fun Day With Cousins

A few days ago we had two of our cousins over for the day. We didn't take very many pictures because we were having so much fun. The day was spent eating fresh cookies out of the oven, playing out side, and watching videos from the top of Jen's bunk-bed. :}

At the Christmas Tree Farm

Last Saturday we went with our cousins to a Christmas tree farm where we enjoyed a wagon hay ride, hand dipped ice cream and tag at the play ground.

What a sweet picture!

Ah, What could be better then a hay ride with cousins Luke and James?

Looking for the "perfect" tree

There are three simple steps in cutting down your Christmas tree. If you follow the steps you will have a successful cutting experience.
1. First you crawl under the tree.

2. Next you pull......

...and tug {repeat steps 1 & 2 several times}

3. Smile for the camera when the work is all done.

Bravo Brass

Last Saturday we had the privilege of hearing a friend, Yuri Kravets play in the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. The concert was held in an historic church in Rittenhouse Square in down town Philadelphia.

Friends

"There's a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall and the bells in the steeple too...

Regretfully they tell us

But firmly they compel us

To say goodbye . . .

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night

I hate to go and leave this pretty sight

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu

Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu

So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen

I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -- Goodbye!"
