In Loving Memory of Great-Grandfather, Alfred Jones

Father and daughter

Reunited with his sister

July 11, 1919---April 3, 2009
In the early hours of the morning Jesus saw fit to take Poppy home. It was unexpected and a shock to everyone. We were able to be by his side as he slowly (over a couple hours) left this earth for a place where suffering and sorrow is no more.
His wife was the love of his life. They are now together forever.
His family was his life and joy and he was always there to talk to when we needed someone.
He loved and proudly served his country with devotion, loyalty and honor. He taught us that freedom is never free and must be fought for and protected. Pop, you are now with your brother that willingly sacrificed his life for our country so we can have the freedom we hold today. Even though our country never found him like you had hoped for, (MIA/POW North Korea) you found him first, in Glory.
Poppy your life, leadership, advise, your stories and your love will always be treasured and cherished in our hearts. They are now memories that we will always hold dear.
Thank you Pop, you were everything that any family could ever wish for. You lived a life well lived.
One last time.....
Pop, we love you forever and always.
..weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5b
