Tour and Pre Op Testing

This morning and early afternoon we were at the hospital. John had fun exploring the playroom in pediatrics. They wanted to make sure they showed that to him and hopefully it will motivate him to walk there a couple days after surgery.

We have been told over and over again John will be in a lot of pain especially the 2nd day. A specific prayer request would be that his pain would be able to be controlled. One to two days after surgery they like to start physical therapy which certainly doesn't help relieve pain.

Dad, Mom and Jennifer went in with John for his testing. The rest of us waited for nearly two hours on benches near an entrance. We learned one thing about New York City- fire alarms mean lunchtime not fire. :) Right at noon a fire alarm went off. We were worried as lights were flashing and doors were being closed but just then a nurse walking by, kindly told us there wasn't any fire and everyday at noon the alarm goes off like this as a test!

Being in New York City isn't like any other place we've been to. There are so many different languages being spoken and in some areas you wondered if you're in another country and what country it is! :)

After John was through at the hospital we went to a deli to eat and then to an Aviation Museum.

Tonight we are picking up Grandmom and Aunt Marjorie (Mom's sister) who are coming in by train.

I know you all have been keeping John in your prayers and I can't say how much it means to us to hear so many friends email, call and leave comments saying they are praying and supporting us through this!

I'll try to keep posting updates through out tomorrow. Dad, Mom and John have to be at the hospital at five AM.

We have shared your burden with our church family. We are all lifting John up in prayer. "Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me"
Ps 50:15
We love and care for your family,
In Christ,
